Warm, funny, and deeply moving, The Marching Band (En Fanfare) follows celebrated orchestra conductor Thibaut, whose life is turned upside down after a leukemia diagnosis leads him to discover he was adopted. Searching for a bone marrow donor introduces him to his biological brother Jimmy — a school canteen cook and passionate trombone player in a struggling local marching band in Lille.

As the two very different brothers begin to navigate their unexpected connection, Thibaut steps in to help lead Jimmy’s band, uncovering not only the music that binds them, but the vastly different lives they have lived. Directed by Emmanuel Courcol, this heartfelt French drama balances humour and emotion with warmth and sincerity, celebrating family, community, and the power of music to bring people together.

A major audience favourite on the international festival circuit, The Marching Band received the Audience Award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and the American French Film Festival in Los Angeles, as well as multiple César Award nominations including Best Film and Best Actor.
